Cellulite, what is it
Cellulite in few words
So what is cellulite? Well cellulite is just a fancy name given by scientists to fat cells in the hypodermis, the deepest layer of skin, that store-in too much fat, become over-inflated and push against the connective layer giving it that “cottage-cheese” look. Because of the structure of these specific fat cells, like little marshmallows, cellulite doesn’t look like ordinary fat tissue and because it develops in deep subcutaneous layers, cellulite it’s not very easy to get rid of . Fortunately for men the chambers in which the fat accumulates are far smaller and because they cannot store too much fat, the risk of them developing cellulite is far lesser. Also another advantage men enjoy over cellulite is that fat is distributed in a fairly uniform manner on their body, while in women, it’s deposited in specific areas (thighs and buttocks).
Cellulite misconceptions
One of the most commons misconceptions about cellulite is that only overweight people suffer from cellulite, which couldn’t be farther from the truth, if you’re destined to suffer from it, it really doesn’t matter if you’re a size 2 or a size 10. Cellulite is not the same as ordinary fat, that has the purpose of insulating our bodies and protecting it against the elements, it’s lumpy so it can’t possibly have the role of an insulator. Cellulite for everybody
You should also know that if you have cellulite you’re hardly alone, 90% of all women and some men develop cellulite at different stages of their lives, especially during important hormonal changes like puberty, pregnancy, menopause or when taking birth-control pills. Hormones play a very important role in the forming of cellulite in women, because estrogen and folliculine are responsible for the regulation of their blood-flow, fat and connective layer. If normal blood-flow is disrupted, capillaries (which perform the change of nutrients and cellular wastes between tissues and blood) stop doing their job properly and begin seeping more than enough fluid in the space between cells, leading to cellulite.
Cellulite contain residual waste
Cellulite also contains a lot of residual waste. In normal circumstances, an adult loses billions of cells and all of them must be eliminated, but this doesn’t always happen, especially in places where the blood circulation is sluggish (thighs and buttocks). So more wastes are produced than eliminated, this surplus obstructs the microcirculation between cells and tissues and leads to the formation of cellulite.
So what you need to remember is that cellulite is a cosmetic defect caused by many factors, that has nothing to do with how much you weigh and that can be beaten with the right knowledge and the right tools.
